Remarks Name used in aquarium trade in Hawaii. Porcupinefishes have prominent spines covering their heads ad bodies (Ref. 5288). 'porcupine', i.e., spiny pig, from Latin 'porcus', i.e., pig and 'spinus, i.e., spine (p. 404, Ref. 11979).
