 Family:  Poeciliidae (Poeciliids), subfamily: Poeciliinae
 Max. size:  2.6 cm SL (male/unsexed); 4.6 cm SL (female)
 Environment:  benthopelagic, non-migratory
 Distribution:  Central America: Cuba.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Prefers stagnant water in ponds, lakes and streams. Found in midwater and on the bottom, seldom at the surface, over soft bottoms, frequently with abundant aquatic vegetation. Feeds on aquatic vegetation, algae, detritus and insect larvae.
