 Distribution:  Africa: Congo River basin except in the Shaba (Katanga) region and the Kasai (Ref. 43352), in Central African Republic, Republic of Congo and Democratic Republic of the Congo.
 Biology:  Absent from rapids and swampy habitats (Ref. 5644).
