 Max. size:  36 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic; depth range 10 - 60 m
 Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Gulf of California and southern Baja California, Mexico to Peru.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Inhabits coastal waters and lower estuarine regions (Ref. 9118). Feeds on fishes, shrimps and cephalopods (Ref. 9118).
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
