 Family:  Schilbeidae (Schilbid catfishes)
 Max. size:  6.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Africa: distribution unknown. Type locality is "Lake Tanganyika", but there is serious doubt about the type locality of this species as Poll (1946) mentioned the absence of schilbeids from the Lake itself; possibly the type specimen of this species was collected in the Luala River (Kasai River basin) and was wrongly labelled afterwards (Ref. 43912).
 Biology:  Oviparous, eggs are unguarded (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
