Specific name should be regarded as an adjective and should be corrected from armatus to armata (Ferraris, pers.comm). This change will be reflected in the corrigenda of Ref. 58032 (Ferraris, pers. comm).

Greek, mikros = small + Greek, synodon = with the teeth growing all together (Ref. 45335).
Etymology of specific name : 
Species name from the Latin 'armatus', meaning armed; in allusion to the antrorse and retrorse serrations on the nterior edge of the pectoral spine unique to this species (Ref. 52369). Noun in apposition.
