Etymology: Trimma: Greek, trimma, -atos = something crushed (Ref. 45335);  xanthum: Name from Greek ‘xanthos’, meaning yellow, yellowish-red, orange or golden; referring to the presence of those colours in freshly collected specimens; noun in apposition.
