Marine; bathypelagic; oceanodromous (Ref. 51243); depth range 0 - 2100 m (Ref. 58302), usually 1000 - ? m (Ref. 6649). Deep-water, preferred ?; 35°N - 11°S, 75°W - 137°W
Atlantic, Indian and Pacific: in tropical and subtropical waters. Known from relatively few, widely scattered localities from the Sargasso Sea to equatorial Pacific at 137°16'W. Eastern Atlantic: Known from four stations within 06°N to 10°S, three of these are within the Gulf of Guinea.
