Europe: British Isles: Loughs mMlvin, Erne, Corrib, and Mask (Ireland), Lochs Awe, Laggan and others (Scotland), apparently also Lakes Ullswater and Bassenthwaite (Cubmria) and Llyns Padarn and Peris (Wales) (Ref. 59043, Ref. 13696).

Feeds on fishes and a variety of insects. In Scotland, feeds on invertebrates until about 30 cm SL, then switches to fish diet, mostly Salvelinus species. (Ref. 59043).
