Short description
Dorsal soft rays (total): 10 - 10; Anal soft rays: 8. Medium sized fish with curved dorsal profile. Mouth not reaching the vertical of the anterior eye border. Well developed barbels. Complete lateral line. Dorsal: 3 simple, 7-8 branched. Anal: 3 simple, 5 branched. Last simple dorsal ray is past ossified serrated at its hind part. Dorsal short and with straight external border. Short gill rakers on 1st branchial arch. Brown back, yellowish belly. Black spots on flanks, well marked in young, blurred in adults, the first ones above lateral line and the hind ones overlapping with lateral line. Fins without color.

Affinities: B. cadenati and B. dialonensis (Ref. 2940). Maximum TL was recorded at 13.5 cm (Ref. 2801).
