Short description

Head small, about 3 times in preanal distance; eye small; anterior nostril without thick, fleshy raised rim; developed gill rakers 5-7; precaudal vertebrae 18; branchiostegal rays 7 (Ref. 34024).

Locally abundant (Ref. 34024). Sexually mature at 23.3 cm SL (Ref. 34024). Oviparous, with oval pelagic eggs floating in a gelatinous mass (Ref. 205).
